University of Redlands, in Redlands, CA is a private, 4-year college located at the foot of the San Bernardino Mountains. Away from the bustling city, but not remote, the 160 acre campus was founded in 1907 after the California earthquake of 1906 destroyed two Baptist colleges (California College and Los Angeles University). Founded as a Baptist school, the University is now independent, although it has an informal relationship with the group American Baptist Churches, USA. Because of its proximity to Los Angeles, the campus has been used as film sets over the years; the list of alumni includes several actors and producers (both film and television).
