Student Life
There are steps taken to ensure that all students have what they need to succeed at APSU. Diversity events, family weekends, and an annual unity celebration are just a few of the ways that the University goes above and beyond. The Adult, Nontraditional, and Transfer Student Center is dedicated to serving students who may need additional guidance as they begin and complete their college experience. The Little Govs Child Learning Center provides on-campus childcare for students, faculty, staff, and alumni of APSU. This resource allows parents to know that their children are well cared for by certified staff as they work towards their higher education goals. There are student organizations like College Possible, which connect recent graduates with new students to help them navigate college life in the areas of personal well being, academics, and finances.
Students stay active at the $11 million Foy Fitness and Recreation Center, which features a 1/10 mile indoor walking track, 26 foot-climbing wall, and 3-court gymnasium. The Simmons Fitness Center also offers a cardio training space, group fitness studios, and a cycling studio. In 2008 an outdoor pool was also added to the recreation space.
