Loyola Marymount University, a private, Roman Catholic 4-year school, sits on the Del Rey Hills bluffs in Los Angeles, CA. It is a large city campus which includes 3 LEED certified buildings on 150 acres not far from the beach. LMU was founded in 1911 as the successor to St. Vincent’s College which was founded in 1865. LMU absorbed Marymount College, founded in 1933 with its roots in Marymount School which was founded in 1923 and was given its present name in 1973. The school is organized under Jesuit and Marymount traditions and is the alma mater to many actors/actresses and, from the Law School, famed attorney Johnnie Cochrane.
