Education
Undergraduate programs at the College of Business and Information Systems include degrees in Professional Accountancy, Business Education, Finance, Marketing, Computer Information Systems, Health Information Administration, and Business Education. There are three associate degrees and six certificate programs available to undergraduate students. The graduate opportunities at the school include three master’s degrees, three certifications, and one doctorate.
Student Life
The Department of Business has been instituted by the business school to act as a support network for business students at Dakota State University. The support staff which oversees this department is Danial Talley, Professor of Economics and Undergraduate Coordinator for Business and Jack Waters, Coordinator for MBA Program and Professor of Management.
Business students looking for opportunities to serve their university and make a difference in the lives of students can consider running for a seat in the Student Senate at DSU. The Student Senate is responsible for leading out in the promotion of students’ general welfare at Dakota State. The group exists as an organized entity that expresses student opinion to administration and the community on matters of public concern. A well-known business-centric club at the university is Phi Beta Lambda which allows students the chance to interact in business on a local, state, and national level.
Online Programs
One of Dakota State University’s most unique distance degrees is the online MBA. The distance degree includes coursework in information systems, business administration, and project management to give the school’s graduates a solid academic and industrial foundation. The curriculum of this online MBA helps students address the challenges that business leaders face in global business. In addition to the core coursework, specialization areas provide opportunities for MBA students to explore the areas of healthcare, management, or business analytics.
