The main campus of Louisiana Delta is located in Monroe, Louisiana. They also have eight campuses across northeastern Louisiana that make it convenient for students near Bastrop, Lake Providence, Monroe, Jonesboro, Ruston, Tallulah, West Monroe, or Winnsboro to work towards their degree. As a community college, LDCC offers a variety of degrees and courses that meet students where they are at, for an affordable price. The College offers dual credit programs for high school seniors, adult learning programs, workforce education, and occupational certificates. Helping students find employment after they complete their degree means that having relevant options is a top priority. Local businesses and industry leaders review and make suggestions for curriculum and programs to assure that students are getting up to date instruction.
Education
LDCC is a part of the Louisiana Transfer program, which allows students to complete the first 60 credit hours towards a bachelor’s degree through community college. Those who complete the program are eligible to enter into four-year universities in the state as a Junior and transfer all credits earned. The Louisiana Transfer degree in General Business includes 39 hours of general education and 21 hours of content-specific course work such as Intro to Financial Accounting, Introduction to Business, Macroeconomics, and Intro to Managerial Accounting.
A Business Office Administration degree is also offered with practical concentration options in General Business, Accounting, or Medical Office. Students receive hands-on training with technology programs like Excel, Word, Access, and Publisher. They will also cover business calculators, business communications, records management, office procedures, and more.
Student Life
The mission of Louisiana Delta CC is to be “an open-admission, comprehensive community college, provides the citizens of northeast Louisiana with affordable and accessible high-quality educational programs, services, and modern workforce training.” Those going into the field of business will appreciate that LDCC is a host for the state of Louisiana’s Small Business Development Center. In fact, they have an office on the Monroe campus and specialize in assisting those with entrepreneurial goals.
Parents who need assistance with child care can schedule for their potty trained three or four-year-olds to attend the on-campus Childcare Center. This Class A, 5 Star facility serves 14 students and offers quality care while students are in class.
Online Programs
Knights Online is the digital learning community at LDCC. The platform utilizes Canvas as a delivery method for all course information, including some live stream classes. All students who participate in online learning take an orientation class to be sure that they have the skills needed for success. There are several degree options available for business students who prefer to learn online. Options include associates degrees with concentrations in Business and Technology, Business Office Administration, or General Business. A certificate can also be earned in Human Resources. Courses can be taken on a full-time basis for a two year completion time or spread out as needed to accommodate busy schedules and responsibilities.
