Missouri Baptist University’s School of Business challenges students to not just become leaders, but to become Christian leaders serving a greater purpose. MBU offers 12 regional campuses throughout Metro St. Louis, Illinois, as well as online, to make earning your degree convenient regardless of where you live.
On average, students only pay 50% of the tuition rates, after generous scholarships and other forms of financial aid have been distributed. The 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio brings out the full potential in students through the University’s mission to create “social change through service and leadership.”
Education
Underclassmen’s creativity will be sparked from the onset of their college career, with majors and minors available in Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Information Technology, Management, and Marketing. Management students can select a concentration in Entrepreneurship, and students from other business disciplines can add Entrepreneurship as a minor.
Students in the Master’s of Business Administration program typically take one course every eight weeks. Classes meet at multiple campus locations one night per week, and students have the option to enroll part-time or full-time. Full-time students generally graduate within 18-24 months. Upon completing the 27-credit hour core, students will choose six-hours of electives and complete a Capstone as the final component. Elective options include Leading Change in Organizations, Managerial Decision Making, Human Resource Management, or completing an MBA internship.
Student Life
Students are strongly encouraged to participate in ENACTUS in order to utilize their business skills to serve the community. Members who go above and beyond in this organization may qualify for class credit.
Circle K International is another great organization for students looking to develop their leadership skills while serving as mentors to youth. The MBU Leadership Institute is a one-year personal mentoring program where students are matched with a professional in their chosen career field. Students who complete this leadership program are recognized at the Outstanding Students of Achievement Ceremony, and this distinction will also be listed on their transcript.
Juniors and seniors from all majors who are in the top 10% are invited to join the prestigious Alpha Chi Honor Society. Some of the annual events include a leadership retreat, spring break trip, Valentine’s party, and an End of the Year BBQ.
