Education
Students have a variety of degrees and concentrated areas of study to choose from to acquire the necessary business knowledge and skills needed to obtain their desired career path. Undergraduates can earn AACSB-accredited Bachelor of Science degrees in Analytics & Technology or Business Administration. A Bachelor of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership or Economics is made possible by a collaboration between Helzberg and the College of Arts and Sciences. The BBA offers optional concentrations in Financial Markets & Economic Analysis, International Business, Marketing, Accounting, Corporate Accounting & Finance, Management, and Marketing Analysis.
Graduate students have a Masters in Management, Business Intelligence & Analytics, and Business Administration. The MBA offers concentrations in Business Intelligence, Entrepreneurship, Organizational Development, Accounting, Data Science, Finance, and Nonprofit Leadership. Seasoned managers can also obtain a well-established Executive MBA that has been a part of the Rockhurst education since 1978.
Undergraduates can apply for academic scholarships like the Breen, Knapp, and Loyola scholarships. Graduate students can seek out scholarships, corporate sponsorships, and employer tuition reimbursements. Helzberg students can join a variety of international study abroad opportunities to gain global business understanding in places like France, Mexico, Spain, Argentina, China, Italy, Zambia, England, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
Student Life
Students must participate in the numerous student clubs and organizations to fully experience every aspect of learning and prepare to enter a career. Business groups include the Finance & Accounting Student Body, Delta Sigma Pi, Enactus, the Nonprofit Leadership Club, Innovate at the Rock, Colleges Against Cancer, Econ Club, Green Club, PEERS, College Republicans, Hockey Club, Student Activities Board, and the Black Student Union.
In addition to the learned material in the classroom, all students can benefit from professional business coaches that come alongside them. They provide pertinent advice, direction, and personal development to aid in the educational process in discovering the right career pathway or helping advance in their current career.
A great advantage is the access to the many levels of businesses in the Kansas City area and developing professional relationships with them. Students learn from, complete internships with, gain hands-on experience from, and find service and employment opportunities with these organizations. Helzberg’s Center for Leadership and Ethics, offering annual events, speakers, and resources, gives business students another excellent educational tool to help build leadership skills and experience.
Online Programs
Through web conferencing, a virtual classroom, and online-certified faculty members, Helzberg now offers an online Masters in Business Intelligence & Analytics degree program. There is also a fully online MBA program for students who choose to concentrate their studies in Data Science, Management, or Healthcare Management.
